Let's See Where This Goes...

Do y'all remember travel?  Do you remember when you could go to the airport, look at the departures board and just....go?  Travel has changed as we know it.  I don't think it will ever look the same.  Some places requiring Covid tests, some places requiring the 14 day quarantine, some simply requiring a mask--it still won't be the same.

As a flight attendant, I have been working first hand through the pandemic.  I never took a Leave of Absence...so I experienced first hand the ups and downs.

I hope this blog is a place where I can share my travel experiences and life experiences.  I am a firm believer that happiness is a choice.  We wake up each morning and decide where our minds and our hearts will take us.  We decide whether or not to start the day on the right foot.  Be kind.  Listen to other people.  Do not judge.  Easier said than done, right?

I am here to navigate through this crazy world, and share my travel experience and expertise with each and every one of you.  I look forward to traveling again one day...whenever that shall be!

 Y'all.  Halloween is weird this year.  It is the one day of the year where its not strange to wear a mask, but yet no one is celebrating.   I carved my pumpkins and cleaned my porch for potential trick-or-treaters...knowing that I will probably have none.   The world has been turned upside down with more countries going back into lockdown, and it is heartbreaking.  I have the world at my fingertips with just the click of a button, but I am grounded.  There will officially be zero stamps in my passport for 2020--a fact I cannot even fathom.  How in the world did we get here?

 The planning, the waiting, the packing....for me, it is half the fun of the trip.  I had waited years for my Eat, Pray, Love moment in Bali.  It was seriously the longest journey of my life.  But a fun one it was!  As a flight attendant flying standby, I have to plan my trips with many contingencies.  "What if" is a major part of my travel plans.  I flew from BNA to LAX and got a day hotel at the Hilton LAX Airport .  The flight to Sydney wasn't until late that night, and I had arrived at LAX around 9am.  It was nice to sleep, rest, take a shower and be refreshed for the long haul to Sydney.  I had a friend and her husband who work for another airline going with me, and we were all flying through Sydney.  We chose to avoid flying through Asia due to flight schedules and to avoid having to get a transit visa.  Because we were spending a day in Sydney, we did have to get a visa for Australia, but they make it an easy electronic ...

A Little About Me

Let me share a little about myself. I am a southern girl from a small town in middle Tennessee.  I grew up with the world at my fingertips and a mother that encouraged me to see it all.  I didn't dream of my wedding day as a little girl.  I dreamed of crystal clear beaches and far off places.  I loved Disney not for the princesses, but for their dreamy locations.  Jasmine and Pocahontas being my favorites!  I didn't want to live in Cinderella's castle, but I sure wanted to see the world on Jasmine's magic carpet!!
